The Scene
She receives the news about Lucerys. The grief arrives and then something else arrives behind it. She gives the order. The order cannot be taken back. The room watches her become someone they hadn't met before.
The System
She spent her entire life navigating a system designed to transfer power around her rather than to her. Every concession, every compromise, every strategic patience had a cost she kept absorbing. The accumulation had a limit. When the limit broke, it broke completely.
The Cost
The decision she makes in grief is the decision that changes everything. She knows this while she makes it. She makes it anyway. The war she starts cannot be un-started.
The Pivot
She does not recover the person she was before the order. That version is gone. What comes next is someone who has stopped trying to be palatable. The crashes compound.
The Pull
You have absorbed more than your share for longer than was sustainable. The collapse, when it came, surprised everyone except you. You knew the structure was temporary.
