Here's the thing about being good at endings. You start performing the leaving.

You pack the box before the conversation happens. You rehearse the goodbye in the shower. You write the letter that names every version of the loss with such precision that the other person, if they ever read it, would think you'd already moved on. And somewhere in the middle of composing the most articulate farewell of your life, you realize you've been saying goodbye for six months and you are still in the room.

That wasn't you. That was Patricia.

Patricia is a Split (2016) reference. Kevin looks in the mirror and doesn't recognize what's looking back. She's the alter who takes over when the original self can't hold the weight. In La Despedida, Patricia doesn't look like avoidance. She looks like processing. She looks like someone who has done the work of an ending, has named it, has written the letter, has told the story at length. And is still holding the door.

So in this deck, Patricia is the universal not-you. She wears different outfits in every archetype. In La Delulu, she rewrites the ending. In La Silenciada, she holds the sentence in your throat. In La Creída, she runs the pitch at midnight. In La Despedida, she rehearses the goodbye so thoroughly that the rehearsal becomes a reason to stay.

When you find yourself describing a relationship in the past tense to everyone except the person: "Patricia wrote the eulogy."

When you've said "I'm done" four times and each time felt completely true: "Patricia again."

When the goodbye is so well-composed, so fair, so generous to everyone involved, that it starts to feel like a reason not to send it: Patricia was driving. You were in the passenger seat practicing your voice for the call.

You are not La Despedida. You are someone Patricia recruits into La Despedida's moves when the actual ending costs more than the articulation of it.

Letting go and composing the letting go are two different jobs. That distinction is the whole card.
